A catch-all email mailbox receives email messages sent to non-existent addresses under the exact same domain. For instance, a message sent to the mistyped [email protected] will go to [email protected] in case the catch-all feature has been enabled for the latter. Thus, you can receive email messages from mates or clients who may have sent a message to your email address with a spelling mistake or to an out-of-date one, which they may still have, but you have already disabled. Only one single mailbox per domain can be a catch-all one and email forwarding cannot be enabled for such a mailbox. The latter is due to the fact that at some point you may start receiving spam email messages in the catch-all mailbox and the forwarding restriction means that the spam will not be sent to a third-party mailbox.

Catch-all Emails in Website Hosting

If you have a website hosting service with us and you want to activate the catch-all option for a certain e-mailbox that you’ve got in the account, it will take literally only a single mouse click in the Email Manager section of your Hepsia hosting Control Panel to do that. A catch-all button is available next to each and every email address that you have created under any domain name registered in the account. You can pick one single address per domain name by clicking on the respective button. This will activate the feature momentarily, so all emails sent to miswritten addresses will be received there. Clicking the button for a second time will turn off the catch-all feature. In case you have activated email forwarding, our system will show a cautionary notification and you will not be able to enable the catch-all feature till you delete the forwarding or you can simply select some other mailbox to be the catch-all one.

Catch-all Emails in Semi-dedicated Hosting

The catch-all feature can be activated without effort if you have a semi-dedicated server plan with us. All the email addresses that you’ve set up using the domain names hosted in the semi-dedicated server account will be listed in the Hepsia Control Panel’s Email Manager section and you will find a mini logo handily located right next to each one. With only a click, you can enable or disable the catch-all option for any mailbox of your preference on the condition that there isn't another mailbox under that same domain name with this option already enabled and there isn't activated email forwarding. Alternatively, you can right-click on an email address and enable the feature through the contextual menu that will surface. If any of the prerequisites for setting up a catch-all mailbox is not answered, our system will notify you, but will not disable or replace anything automatically.
